Headline: Halloween Festival in County Meath!
First Ever ‘Spirits of Meath’ Halloween Festival in County Meath!

Did you know that Halloween, which is famous the world over, began at the Hill of Ward in County Meath?

While the Celts who travelled to the USA and other countries around the world popularised Halloween and made it into one of the most popular festivals in the calendar, it started its traditions in pagan ritual which can still be experienced today in County Meath. On Oct 31st a Traditional Torchlights Procession from Athboy will travel to the Hill of Ward at 7pm, where all who chose to participate in this will hear all about the old traditions and legends associated with the original Halloween.

If you prefer the more modern games and scary fun that we associate with Halloween today, the ‘Spirits of Meath’ Halloween Festival will take place right across the county from October 23rd to October 31st 2009.

For a full schedule of events, accommodation offers (so good they’re spooky!) & opportunities to win tickets to ‘Spirits of Meath’ events see www.meathtourism.ie, email Meath Tourism at info@meathtourism.ie or call on 046 9097060.
